What a weekend! And it's not even over.
Thursday night my mom and I went to visit my cousin and we decided to stay the night rather than drive home with the big storm coming in.
And what a storm!
At about mid-night the power went out and never came back on. It took us 4 hours to get home the next morning for what should have taken 1-1/2 hours.
We found that our house had lost power as well... and wasn't showing signs of coming back on any time soon with a tree down on the power line.
So we went to Kelly and Mike's place (friend of my parents) and stayed very warm. My mom even walked around barefoot!
This morning we found that the power to our house was turned back on... thank goodness!
But my Grandma and Granddad and Great-Grandma are not so lucky. They are still without power and are likely to be for several more days. The news says their area may be without power for 5-7 days. My dad drove out to their place to help with their down generator and said it was like a war-zone out there.
The good news for the weekend is that I learned how to sit up all on my own!
I get in a crawling position:
Throw my hip to the side:
Slide my arm closer to me and push myself onto my bottom:
I can now view the world in a different way whenever I want... I don't need someone to sit me up... I can do it on my own!
I just really hope my Grandparents get their power on very soon.
