LEGO FEST

My Mom surprised me the other week by saying she was going to take me to Portland, Oregon for a night.  I was so excited to know that I was going to go on a small road trip with just Mom, stay in a hotel with just Mom, that I didn't even ask why where we going.  But when I found out that we were going to be going to a Lego festival, I was, well, just even more excited.

After several weeks of school, soccer and other stuff we do... it was time to go!

It was Saturday morning and I had finished playing my soccer game.  Mom and I drove Sienna to Grandma & Granddad's (Dad had a busy two days of work), had lunch and then started our road trip.

I only asked about 7 times if we were there yet or how much longer it would be!  Then we got to our hotel, checked in and started in on our Disney Monopoly game I really like to play.

We played until about 6pm and then put it on pause to go to dinner at the restaurant right next door: Red Robin.  We were shocked to find it was an hour and a half wait!  So we started to walk to the Subway.  The line was 2 blocks long!  Ever restaurant we looked at was packed.  We even walked over to the mall a few blocks away and found the food-court the same... packed with conference people!  Turns out there was some conference for Avon (not really sure what that is) and that is why there were so many people and why there were all dressed so nice.

We managed to get corn dogs and Mom bought us both chocolate milk out of a vending machine!  Not the dinner either one of us had planned, but we were together and I got food so it was OK.  We got back to the hotel and continued our game.  I love my Mommy.

The next morning I ate Cheerios and Cheez Its in bed (yup, I do have an awesome mom!).  Then we packed up, checked out and headed of to the Lego Festival.

I had to get my picture right away with Lightning McQueen.

There were a lot of Lego models to go see and take pictures with, but the giant Lego pile called to me!

Then Ninjago called my name even louder!

This festival was really neat.  They had different sections of activities.  Games, building, cartoons, books, shopping and displays.

Mom and I had fun going around taking pictures with some of the Lego models.  Here are just a few:

Nick was there, too!  He went with his Mom and some of his friends.  I saw him a few times and then we got together in the Ninjago section and battled!

After the Lego Festival, we ran an errand and then started our drive back to pick up Sienna.

I sure had a great time!  Thanks Mom for the weekend.  I hope we can do this again.
