SURPRISE Grandma!

After months of keeping quiet about all the plans, my Grandma was treated by family and friends this weekend to a surprise 60th birthday party.

She had absolutely no idea.

My Aunt Kris puts events together every once in a while for her handicapped friends and my Grandma usually helps out with them. She thought that was what she was going to be doing when she showed up. Grandma brought homemade potato salad and balloons to her own party!

Aunt Kim, Aunt Kris and my mom were so happy that all their hard work paid off... Grandma was genuinely surprised, happy and in disbelief.

She got to visit with family and friends from near and far; those she sees frequently and those she hasn't seen in years.

She even got to meet a new friend (9 week old baby Dylan), the son of my mom's life long friend, Karin.

The party was held at the church my preschool rents space from... I got to show it off to my Grandma and Granddad after the party. Then my cousin Eric and Michele came over to my house to play Wii, go to dinner and stay the night.

This morning, Eric read to me while we waited for my grandparents and Great Aunt and Uncle to come over for a little Wii action and lunch.

Great Aunt Louise found time between Wii games to read a few more stories to me. I wish everyone could have stuck around longer to play with me...

Grandma, I hope you enjoyed your special day... you deserved it!
