Deck Update

Work continued this weekend on our deck. Correction, hard work continued on our deck.

What didn't happen this weekend was cold and rainy weather like the weathermen kept telling us was coming to our area. Instead of rain slickers, on Friday my Granddad showed up in his infamous sun hat and three or four drills ready to go.

After realizing how many screws they were needing to put in, my dad ran to Home Depot and bought himself a slightly early birthday gift (his 30th birthday is this Friday)... a new drill with two batteries and an LED light. Fancy.

In this picture, you can see our new patio (behind my Granddad) and new walkway. I'll be sure to post pictures of before and after when it is all complete.

On Saturday we put out a call for help -- and help showed up (even with their dogs!). Grandma Carolyn and Deni pitched in for a few hours and Great Uncle David and cousin Debbie stayed all day. What a HUGE HELP they all were.... thank you, thank you, thank you.

Today we took a break... it rained. My mom and I cleaned the house and played the day away. I'm staying the night at Grandma and Granddad's tonight -- they picked me up with a special treat -- train sets. Granddad showed me how to work one of them.

Work continues on the deck this week. I am letting my Dad take a break for his birthday... so he better get most of it done before then!
